Persol clip-on collection: clearly useful

I've lost count of the number of times I've wished my Persols had a clip-on sunglass lense option. In fact I don't know why this accessory isn't included in every eyeglass prescription, apart from the fact that it could quite possibly wipe out the market for sunglasses and contacts, at least for spectacle wearers.

So an enlightened idea then, and one that was last quite the thing back in the eighties and before that, seeing as these things go in 20-year cycles, probably, oh, the sixties.

And they're back, and there isn't an option for the glasses I have. Damn.

Visvim FW 2011: accessorise yo-self

Visvim is one of those brands for which its ludicrous pricing only really becomes apparent when you're actually wearing the stuff, the way it hangs, the softness of the fabric.

So this might well look like a collection of artfully placed rags and charity shop finds, and yes, as far as I am aware that is a poncho, but this is the finest collection of rags you will ever find bar none. Or at least that's what I've been brainwashed into thinking.

I've added some of the new season's bags on here as well to spare you another Visvim post.

Girls Friday: Olivier Zahm for Yasmine Eslami Lingerie

Olivier Zahm has to be the world's most unlikely object of desire for women, but they love him, which should give us all hope, really.

Rocky Mountain Featherbed x Uniform Experiment: puffed up

Here's the Uniform Experiment version  of the Rocky Mountain Featherbed leather vest - looks like a Christie to me - which in keeping with most Japanese collabs these days amounts to a couple of initials on the flip side of the collar.

Maybe the leather's different, I dunno. The price will definitely be.

Moncler V 2011: chill out

So it turns out that Moncler's collaboration with Visvim was more than just a one-off thing. Details of this year's collection are now beginning to emerge, beginning with a couple of body warmers (vests) and a pair of strides.

More, no doubt, will be revealed in the coming months.

Nike x Fragment All Court high: That's more like it

Moving on from yesterday's rant, here is an example of what Fragment Design can do when Hiroshi Fujiwara is left to his own devices. A subtle interpretation of the All Court in that ideal shade of navy and only the merest hint of a Fragment logo.

A bit more like it.

Supreme x Fragment Nike Air Zoom All Court: off target

Am I missing something here or is this one of the worst trainer designs I've ever come across? In fact if you went to a counterfeiter and said "I want a fake pair of Nike x Fragment x Supreme kicks" I can more or less guarantee they would come up with something like this.

No subtlety, no thought, no imagination.

But maybe I am missing something. Maybe they are supposed to look like something that's come out of a stinky little factory in Huangdong Province staffed by five-year-olds. Maybe they even did.

I'm sure these will be difficult to track down, but when you do find some, you're welcome to them.
