Visvim FW 2012 Sense magazine shoot: brought to life

You can't really tell how good Visvim stuff is until you put it on, which is why the Sense magazine shoots of the latest collections are always a welcome arrival.

Here you get an idea of the flavour of the fall winter 2012 collection, which appears to have departed slightly from its Navajo roots and set up camp amongst the indigenous tribes in the foothills of Chille or some other impoverished South American country.

You might notice a pair of Virgil boots there. These are made from German deerskin and have a price tag of Y176,400 (£1,428.37). Which is just silly.

The Antics Roadshow: nice timing

It might be considered foolish to be screening the 'best bits' of the career of an artist who has set himself up quite squarely against the establishment as we sweep up from the worst riots the country has seen in decades.

But then Banksy is something of an enigma. He's the vandal who has been adopted as a national treasure, and while his art might be considered inflamatory to some and is admittedly always illegal, it is done with a sense of humour and a degree of intelligence.

And in a free country which isn't usually blighted by looters and thugs, it's nice to make your own mind up.

Thomas Pink x Help for Heroes: proudly shirted

Causes don't come much more worthy than Help for Heroes, which exists to help the convalescence of our injured forces upon their return from the likes of Afghanistan.

The Generati80n collection celebrates the 80th anniversary of the brand with the release of a few of its staple styles in some new stormy North Sea-esque hues.

It might not seem like it as we simmer in a boil-in-th-bag mix of balmy temperatures and monsoon conditions, but the lion's share of the summer is over and like it or not we are heading, like an out of control train, towards winter. You can offset the gloom the thought of dark mornings and months of crappy weather induces with a look at the Nigel Cabourn collection, which is enough to brighten anyone's day.

We all know the buzz of heading out for one of those early morning rides with the fellas, the sun barely risen,  nothing but 60-odd miles of empty roads to look forward to.

We don't all know what it's like to have all that and the Grand Canyon. These chaps do. They are riding the route of the 2011 Pro Cycling Challenge.

Still, we have Southend seafront, and that can be a sight to behold.
